Shutter lag

Tips to avoid/reduce shutter lag

Does this sound familiar to you? Someone smiles at the camera but by the time the image is captured, the smile is gone. Once again, the camera was too slow. Many photographers are faced with problems due to their camera’s shutter lag. There is a partial solution to the problem. The main point of the problem is that cameras require some time in order to focus. If the shutter release is already depressed, the camera can already pre-focus and is markedly faster when capturing the image. As long as the shutter release is depressed, the camera registers the distance. Everything that is within that distance is in sharp focus in sufficient lighting conditions.
